The Core Essence Of Marriage

When an inventor or an engineer creates something, they usually have guidelines that surround it. For example, a weight/person limit in elevators. In addition, they also have a key purpose and reason for their creation. The point of the elevator is to transport people and goods across different floor levels. The elevator could technically be kept on one floor and used as a closet. However, that defeats its core purpose. 

Just like that elevator,  the designer of marriage had an intended purpose for it. We can use our marriages and relationships for other things, but if they do not align with the core, we risk under-utilizing marriage at best and, at worst, damaging the people involved. So what exactly is this core? Today's teaching uses the story of Mary and Joseph to demonstrate God's greater purpose.
