We start the very first day of August at the feet of the Lord, learning about something that some Christians might neglect as a "basic truth." The deeper we grow in the knowledge of God, living for His purpose and glory, the more important the foundations of our faith become. Psalm 11:3 makes it clear that if our foundations are not solid, we are stuck, unable to grow further. 

But how exactly do we grow in something that has become automatic, like second nature? What Biblical examples are available for us to learn from? And how can we charge up our spirits to not just view this as a "nice to do," but as an essential part of our faith?
